IREA – The Romanian Institute for Adult Education

The Romanian Institute for Adult Education in Timisoara, Romania was funded in March 2000 as a pedagogical research institute aiming to provide scientific and methodological support for the adult education institutions and practitioners working in adult education in Romania.
It is set up as an independent research unit of the Faculty of Sociology and Psychology of the West University of Timisoara. It acts as a link between academic theory and practical work, carrying out participative, research and development projects in the area of adult education.
Throughout editorial work and organising academic events, workshops and project partnerships the Institute covers adult education nationally and internationally. The Institute is involved in and coordinates a number of European Gruntvig, Erasmus and Leonardo da Vinci Projects.

DIE (Deutsches Institut für Erwachsenenbildung) – German Institute for Adult Education

The German Institute for Adult Education is a publicy funded research and service institute in the field of adult education. The DIE acts as an interface between research and the field of practice in adult education, supporting both of these areas with its services, and it carries out research itself. The DIE has a wide-ranging experience in European project work and has been involved in many European projects n the field of education, both as partner and coordinator.

ERGON K.E.K.

ERGON K.E.K. is a Vocational Training Centre, funded 1995 as a not-for-profit organisation based in Athens and offering training programmes in all parts of the country.
This covers the fields of Management and Economy, Information technology, tourism and recreation, Technical Professions and Transports, Environmental Studies, Agriculture and Farming, Educational and pedagogic professions, Training of Trainers and Educational Studies.

The University of Florence/ Department of Education and Cultural, Training Processes Sciences

The University of Florence has been involved and is currently involved in European research projects dealing with lifelong learning issues related to the labour market issues as well. Personnel who will be involved in project activities are very high skilled in the lifelong learning issues, adult education, the way companies are related to education and training.

VOX – National Institute for Adult Learning

VOX is an agency of the Norwegian Ministry of Education and Research.
The Institute works to improve basic skills in the adult population in the areas of reading, writing, arithmetic and the use of Information and Communication Technology.
VOX has coordinated several European projects such as two large Gruntvig for Networks on literacy and numeracy and a Leonardo da Vinci project which has validated a module that integrates literacy, numeracy and digital competence.

German Romanian Foundation Centre for Vocational Training and Development

The GRF is a Vocational adult training centre for unemployed people aged 17 and older.
The Vocational training is modelled on the German dual system in Vocational education. The organisation cooperates with more than 100 Romanian companies, the technical university and other local institutions. GRF takes part in several international projects like Gruntvig and Leonardo da Vinci as a coordinator and partner.

The Department of Scandinavian Languages in the University of Stockholm

The department of Scandinavian languages conducts research and provides education at a tertiary level for different undergraduates and post graduates, among whom future teachers of teachers of writing and reading in Sweden. The department has a research group and many projects directed towards literacy education in working life.
